I’ve always been interested in sports, whether it’s been watching them or playing them. Therefore, it was only natural for me to explore the statistics surrounding sports! Obviously, Covid-19 has been a significant event, but I wanted to look at in terms of how it impacted sports, and I realized that Covid-19 meant that stadiums weren’t allowing spectators.
So, I explored whether that actually impacted the supposed “Home Court Advantage” that many people believe, based on how many games the home team won in 2020, compared to each year in the last decade.
I actually made some interesting discoveries, such that while there was a drop off for the games won in the NBA, the NFL home games won decreased, but not to an alarming amount.
